AVIATION: Take to the skies (Session 1 and 2)
In this session, you will explore ʯÁñÊÓÆµ’s aviation programs and discover the diverse career opportunities available across the aviation industry. You’ll gain insight into how ʯÁñÊÓÆµ prepares graduates with industry relevant skills and real-world experience. Then step into the cockpit of ʯÁñÊÓÆµ’s flight simulator for a hands-on experience, taking control of an Airbus A320 and experiencing what it’s like to fly a large commercial aircraft.
BUSINESS: What if there were no right answers – only BETTER ideas? (Session 1)
In this session, you’ll experience how university learning is different from high school. You’ll work in teams to tackle real‑world challenges, starting with the Human Knot teamwork challenge, where communication, leadership, and collaboration matter more than instructions. You’ll then step into the mindset of an entrepreneur, using the Lean Model Canvas to shape a creative business idea - identifying problems, customers, and solutions the way real startups do. This session shows how business students learn by doing, thinking differently, and working together.
CREATIVE ARTS: Acting - Bold Choices, Real Performance (Session 1)
Step into acting with Travis Dowling and learn how to make bold choices, trust your instincts, and perform with confidence. Grounded in real technique, this fast paced session helps you build authentic, connected, and dynamic performances.
CREATIVE ARTS: Devising Theatre - Create Together (Session 2)
Get creative with Travis Dowling as you explore the art of devising theatre. Through collaboration, improvisation, and bold ideas, you’ll generate original material, build performance skills, and experience the power of working as an ensemble.
EDUCATION: Experience Education in Action (Session 1 and 2)
In this Education session, you’ll jump into a mix of hands on activities that bring learning to life. Working in groups, you’ll take on challenges like a STEM activity, role play real classroom scenarios, and put your problem solving skills to the test in an escape room challenge. It’s a fun, interactive way to experience what studying Education is really like and to explore whether teaching and learning could be the right path for you.
ENGINEERING: Bridge builders (Session 1 and 2)
Join us for an engaging hands-on engineering experience designed to challenge your creativity, precision, and problem-solving skills! In this interactive session, you’ll step into the role of a structural engineer as you design, measure, and construct a model bridge using balsa wood. Whether you’re interested in engineering, architecture, design, or simply enjoy building things, this session offers a fun and practical introduction to the world of engineering through creativity, collaboration, and friendly competition.
ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE: Water testing (Session 2)
Dive into the world of environmental science with a hands-on water quality investigation designed to introduce you to the kinds of field and laboratory techniques used in climate and water science. You will analyse water samples collected from different environments – such as ponds, streams, and farm dams – using real water testing equipment and macroinvertebrate identification methods.
EXERCISE SCIENCE: Testing to improve health and performance (Session 1)
Exercise science professionals, including exercise physiologists, routinely deliver and interpret the results of exercise testing across a range of health and sporting contexts. These exercise tests assess client health or athlete performance and the data from these tests is then used by exercise science professionals to tailor individualised exercise programs to improve the health and performance of these clients or athletes. In today’s session, you will perform a range of exercise tests that you will encounter in a career in sport and exercise science. You will also explore how these tests are applied in a variety of real life sport and exercise science contexts.
FOOD SCIENCE: Sensory Safari (Session 1)
This session will focus on how food processing and ingredients give the structures, texture and other sensory aspects. You may make a few food products including marshmallows, gummies, ganache and work out how much chocolate vs broccoli gives your daily macronutrient needs!
GEOSPATIAL TECHNOLOGY: Where could drones, satellites and geospatial technology take you? (Session 2)
What if your future career could involve using drones, satellites, maps and data to understand the world from above? In this session, you will explore how geospatial technology is used to solve real-world problems across agriculture, mining, cities, water resources, environmental monitoring, natural hazards, climate change and remote field locations such as Antarctica, the Himalayas and volcanoes. The session is designed for students who are curious about technology, the environment, exploration, data, maps or science, and who may not yet realise that geospatial technology can lead to interesting career pathways across many different industries.
HEALTH: When Every Second (and Professions) Count - Heart Attack Simulation (Session 2)
What really happens when someone has a heart attack? In this immersive, school wide health, psychological and medical sciences experience, you'll follow a patient across the continuum of care, from initial response to recovery. Explore how medical, health, and psychological sciences work together, and see what it’s like to be part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
HUMANITIES AND COMMUNICATION: Mixing it with Industry – launch your career (Session 1)
In this workshop, you’ll get the chance to “speed date” the different study areas that make up Arts and Communication degrees, helping you quickly discover what sparks your interest. You’ll also meet real industry professionals who’ll share what their jobs are really like and introduce you to exciting career paths you might not have even realised were options in the Arts and Communication space.
HUMANITIES AND COMMUNICATION: Launch your career (Session 2)
In this workshop, you’ll get the chance to “speed date” the different study areas that make up Arts and Communication degrees, helping you quickly discover what sparks your interest. Find out about the studying at ʯÁñÊÓÆµ and the exciting career paths in the Arts and Communication space.
INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY: Cyber Detective Workshop - Spotting Scams and Phishing (Session 2)
You'll take part in a hands-on Phishing Detective Challenge, where you work in small teams to examine printed emails, text messages and social media posts to decide whether each one is real or a scam. You identify red flags, compare clues and justify your decisions, just like real cyber investigators. The session also includes a creative component where you'll design their own (safe) phishing message for another team to analyse, helping them learn how scammers think and operate.
LAW: Life in the Law and the ‘Rights Balloon’’ (Sessions 1 and 2)
This interactive session invites you to test and grow your knowledge of the law and legal careers. We’ll start by exploring what you already know about legal roles, how to become a lawyer, and the law programs we offer. The session then moves into a fun, interactive game where you consider fundamental rights and why they matter in real-world situations.
MEDICAL SCIENCE: Lungs Lab – breath & beyond (Session 1)
Take a deep breath and dive into the science of how your lungs keep you alive! In this interactive, hands-on session, you will test your own lung capacity, explore 3D lung anatomy, and discover how simple breathing techniques can boost focus and reduce stress. Try real clinical tools, uncover what happens inside your body when you breathe, and get a smell of what it is like to study Biomedical Sciences at ʯÁñÊÓÆµ.
NURSING: Get hands-on with health care skills (Sessions 1 and 2)
Get a taste of nursing with a quick overview of our nursing program and hands on activities. You’ll practise taking blood pressure, listening to lung sounds with a stethoscope, proper hand washing using the glitter bug and SureWash system, simple wound dressing, and even have a go with a simulated manikin. A fast, fun way to see what nursing is all about.
OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY & SPEECH: The ultimate therapy challenge (Session 1)
Ready to put your skills to the test? Step into the world of occupational therapy and speech pathology in this fast-paced, hands-on session! Rotate through interactive challenge stations where you’ll try everything from using your non-dominant hand to complete everyday tasks, to testing your voice control and sensory skills. Led by passionate students and professionals, this session gives you a real taste of what it’s like to help people live, communicate, and participate in everyday life. PARAMEDICINE: The great paramedic amazing race (Session 1)
Ready to think fast under pressure? In this action packed, Amazing Race–style ʯÁñÊÓÆµ Paramedicine Experience Day session, you'll rotate through real emergency skills including CPR, patient carries, splinting, and snakebite first aid. Working in teams, you’ll test your decision making, communication, and resilience - just like a real paramedic!
PHYSIOTHERAPY: Let’s get moving (Session 1)
You will take part in an interactive, hands on session exploring how physiotherapists assess movement and function, make clinical decisions, and support people to improve mobility and participation. This session offers an authentic taste of what learning and thinking like a physiotherapy student is like at university.
PSYCHOLOGY: In action – Who are you? (Session 1)
Step into the world of psychology to explore the science behind behaviour and individual differences. Delve into how psychologists understand people through the management of motivation and emotion, engage in self-reflective awareness about your own personality and where it came from, and discover how you might manage yourself via this self-reflective awareness. This interactive Experience ʯÁñÊÓÆµ Day session gives you a taste of what studying psychology at university and beyond is really like.
SURVEYING: Surveyor for a day! (Session 1)
Step into the role of a professional surveyor for the day and discover how engineers and construction teams measure and map the world around us. In this session, you will use real surveying instruments and equipment to set out precise points, learning the importance of accuracy, teamwork, and problem-solving in modern engineering and construction projects.
